September 24, 1946 -- March 22, 2024

Funeral Services for Stewart Elbert "Cup" Lambert Jr., 77, of Monticello, AR will be held at 1:00 p.m Friday, April 5, 2024. Service will be held at Dillard Funeral Chapel, 738 East Oakland Street, Monticello, AR; Rev. G. H. Toney, Officiating Minister.

Stewart was born on September 24, 1946 to Stewart and Ollie Mae Lambert in Lacey, Arkansas. He was a Baptist and was affiliated with Promiseland Baptist Church, Lacey, Arkansas.
Stewart worked on the farm for years while attending school in Lacey and then Drew High School. He started his work career at Burlington Spinning Plant in Monticello in 1967 and worked there for over 29 years. After Burlington, he started working at Drew County Disability and worked for seven years as a Caretaker.

Stewart loved to hunt, fish and growing gardens. He spent countless hours getting his vegetables ready to be picked. He worked his garden until his health began to fail. He loved sitting out on the porch predicting the weather and keeping up on the news. He also loved cooking, especially greens, peas and pole beans. He would always add his special touch to his food making you fall in love with it.

Stewart loved spending time watching westerns and listening to the radio. What he loved the most was spending time with his immediate family, especially at Family Reunion times where he had all his brothers and sisters together.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Stewart Lambert, Sr. and Ollie Daniels Lambert, and one son, James Miller.

Mr. Lambert passed away on Friday, March 22, 2024, at Drew County Memorial Hospital, Monticello. He is survived by his love and soulmate, Ruby Jean Miller of Monticello; one daughter, Sharon Preston and two sons, Tony Miller and Desmond Miller all of Monticello; eight siblings, Clarence Lee Lambert II (Chong) of Clarksville, TN, Callie Mae Rogers of Richmond,, IN, Mae Helen Miller of Indianopolis, IN, Dennis Leon Lambert of Monticello, AR, Shelia Faye Powell (William) of Monticello, AR, Sherry Kay Toney (George) of Monticello, AR, Jimmy Calvin Lambert of Monticello, AR, and Jarvis Elroy Lambert of Monticello, AR; Special brothers, Troy Foster, Hosea Robertson, Roy Bassett, and Dalton Fisher; 16 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Special thanks to his sister, Sherry Toney, who was there every step of this journey.

Vistation for family and friends will be held Thursday, April 4, 2024, from 5-7 at Dillard Funeral Home, 738 East Oakland, Monticello. The Family will come from 5-6; viewing opened to the public from 6-7.

Burial will take place at Lacey Cemetery, Lacey, Arkansas, 1197 Lacey New Hope Road. Services entrusted to Dillard Funeral Home, 738 East Oakland Avenue, Monticello; 870-224-8103.
