Mamie Beal, 92, of Dermott, AR passed away on May 26, 2021 at St. Vincent Hospital in Hot Spring, Arkansas.
Mamie was born on January 20, 1929 to the late D.P. and Willie Ridgell Graham in McGehee, Arkansas. She was the third of nine children. She married the late Rev. Cloid "C.L." Beal on Sunday May 4, 1947 in McGehee Desha County Arkansas. To this union (14) fourteen children were born. One child, baby Linda, proceeded her in death. She and C. L. later moved to Dermott, Arkansas where she continued her life as a housewife and joined Tabernacle Baptist Church under the
leadership of the late Rev. Willie Lee Plummer. She sang in the senior choir and cared for some of the elderly mothers within the church.
Mamie received her education at the Wolf Project School System in Rohwer, Arkansas. She accepted Christ at an early age and joined Mt. Zion Baptist
Church in McGehee, Arkansas, under the leadership of the late Rev. A. M. Triplett. She enjoyed learning with her mother who taught her to cook.
She loved her position as a foster grandparent for the Lake Village Elementary School from as early as 2004 to about 2014. She also enjoyed
working in her yard in earlier years planting a small garden, prepping and freezing the harvest to cook throughout the year.
She remained a faithful member of Tabernacle Baptist Church serving as a mother on the mother’s board until her health began to fail. God knew she
was weak and frail and sent one of his angels to quietly bring her home with Him. Mamie went home to be with the Lord at 5:30 pm on the evening of
