Calvary Missionary Baptist Church 1001 W. Hazel Street Dermott, AR 71638 Elder George Cooper, Officiating Luther Cooper, Jr. was born July 3, 1950 to the late Luther Cooper an Ida Cooper in Dermott, AR. He departed from this life on Wed. December 6, 2017 in Little Rock, Arkansas. Cooper was baptized at an early age. He later attended Chicot County High School in Dermott and played college basketball in Yazoo City, MS in 1969. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and completed three years stationed in Missouri and from there to Vietnam. He lived in California about 30 years before moving back to Arkansas in 2015. In 2016, Luther began working for the McClellan V.A. Hospital. He was 67 years old when the Lord called him home. He leaves to cherish him memory, one sister, Brenda Cooper Jackson of Conway, who loves him now, then and forever; two god-sisters, Debra Hall Porter and Bobby Annette McGhee of Dermott; one niece, Yolanda Jackson; four great nieces, Jermanish Jackson, Shauntavia Hampton and Jadia Hagganna and Erin Cae; one great nephew, Ty'Vondrick Jackson of Little Rock; four god-nieces, Felicia Finch, Tiffany Mcghee, Alexia Hall and Evelyn Hall of Little Rock; two god-nephews, Willie Hall Jr. and Michael Carter Jr. of Kansas; cousins and friends Sandrea Wolfe, Debra Cooper, Gustavia Baker, George Cooper, Ella Mae Cooper and a host of relatives and friend.
