March 21, 1938 -- February 4, 2025

Funeral Services for Ms. Lula Billups, 86, of Dermott, AR will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 15, 2025. Service will be held at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 1109 North School Street, Dermott; Pastor Michael Wolfe, Officiating.

Lula was born on March 21, 1938 in Halley, Arkansas to Henry and Annie Billups. She was a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend who lived a life full of love, service and devotion to others. She transitioned from her earthly home to glory on February 4, 2025.

Lula's life was one of service, dedication and joy. She was passionate about reading, solving Find-a-Word Puzzles, cooking, and most of all, spending time with her loved ones. Above all, Lula was a devout servant of the Lord. She dedicated over 40 years as a mother of Lightwood Missionary Baptist Church, Halley, AR, under the leadership of Rev. William Marshall and she remained a faithful servant with the Bethany Missionary Baptist Church, Dermott, under the leadership of Pastor Laverne Cotton. There she provided guidance, love and support to the congregation until God called her home. Lula's unwavering faith, kind heart, and gentle spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her. Her legacy of love and service will live on through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and countless others whose lives she touched. She will be deeply missed, but her memories will continue to inspire and guide us all.

Those left to cherish her precious memories are her six children, Milton Holmes (Wanda) of Jackson, MS, Jerry Cook (Robin) of Dermott, James Jackson (Latanya) of Gulfport, MS, Jackie Lewis of Wilmar, AR, Patrrick Cook (Yolanda) of San Antonio, TX, and Anthony Cook of Dermott; eighteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; eight siblings, Roosevelt Billups (Diane) of Chicago, IL, Milliam Billups of Maitland, FL, Mildred Billups of Chicago, IL, Ruby Woods of Dermott, AR, Freddie Brinkley of Chicago, IL, Paige Billups of Birmingham, AL, Otis Charles Billups(O.C) of Dermott, AR, and Hildaphine Billups of Maumelle, AR.

Lula is preceded in death by her father and mother, Henry and Annie Billups; two sons, Larry Townsend and Frankie Graham; Siblings, Ollie Mead Billups, Herman Billups, Charles Billups, Sullivan Billups, Franklin "Dee" Billups and Henry Billups, Jr.

Viewing will be held at Dillard Funeral Home from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday. Viewing at the church Saturday will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
