Graveside Service for Louis Mitchell Jr., 75, of Parkdale, AR will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 23, 2023. Service will be held at Childress Chapel Cemetery, Highway #8, West, Parkdale,, Arkansas; Rev. Albert Fenceroy, officiating minister.
Louis was born on September 30, 1947 to Hilbert Mitchell and Atheline Green Davidson in Menefee, Arkansas. He grew up and lived in Parkdale all his life. He attended school at Slack-LeGrande High School, Wilmot. After completing his education, most of his adulthood was spent as a carpenter, constructing many houses and business. He loved building.
Mr. Mitchell passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2023 at Lake Village Rehabilitation and Care Center, Lake Village, Arkansas. He is survived by his spouse Effie Carter of Parkdale, AR; nine children, Brian Mitchell (Carri) of Apex, NC, Patrick Mitchell (Toi Mitchell) and Terrance Mitchell of Tustin, CA, Tawanna Mitchell (Milton) of Dallas, TX, Kenny Mitchell of Monroe, LA, Teressa Montague (Augustus) of Parkdale, AR, Ervin Mitchell of Parkdale, AR, Patrick Carter of Parkdale, AR, and Angie Bass Watkins (Marlon Watkins) of Little Rock, AR; six siblings, Grady Lewis of Manteca, CA, Atheline Goodwin (Earl) of Augusta, GA, Shirley Owens of Hot Springs, AR, Georgia Morris (Marzell Morris) of Parkdale, AR, Barbara Davidson of Portland, AR, and Bennie Strickland of Indianopolis, IN; and George Davidson, IV (DaShonda) of Houston, TX. Louis was preceded in death by his mother, Atheline Green Davidson; his father, Hilbert Mitchell; one brother, Larry Davidson; three sisters, Linda Davidson Miller, Betty Faye Davidson and Pearlean Davidson Williams.
Visitation for Family and Friends will be held on Friday, September 22, 2023 from 5:30 to 7:00 at Dillard Funeral Home, 137 Front Street, Eudora, AR.
Burial will take place in Childress Chapel Cemetery, Highway 8, West, Parkdale. Services entrusted to Dillard Funeral Home, 137 Front Street, Eudora, AR.
