Funeral Services for Henry Lee Grubbs, 86, of Portland, AR, will be held at 11:00 a .m. Saturday, January 7, 2023. Service will be held at New Light Missionary Baptist Church, Portland; Pastor Henry Dickerson, Officiating Minister.
Henry was born on April 19, 1936 to Harvey Grubbs and Easter McCoy Grubbs in Portland, Arkansas. He was married to Carrie Mae (Polite) Grubbs. He attended school at Tillis High School, Portland. Lee, as he was called by all of his friends, loved walking and socializing and making sure that the cemetery was properly cared for.
Mr. Grubbs passed away on December 26, 2022 at The Woods at Monticello Healthcare and Rehabilitation, Monticello, Arkansas. He leaves as survivors his spouse, Carrie Mae Grubbs of Portland, AR; four children, Charlotte Grubbs of Danville, IL, Keith Polite of Portlalnd, AR, Priscilla Grubbs of Portland, AR, and Rochelle Johnson (Errick) of Sherwood, AR. He is preceded in death by one son, Billy Ray Grubbs.
Visitation will be held from10 to 10:45 the day of the service at New Light Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will take place at Number Two Cemetery, Portland. Services entrusted to Dillard Funeral Home, 738 East Oakland Street. Monticello, AR.
