Mother Elizabeth Turner Woods entered her heavenly home on August 18, 2020
at CHI St. Vincent Hospital in Little Rock, AR after 67 years of gracing
this earth. The fifth of seven children, Elizabeth was born February 14,
1953 to her late parents Henry Turner and R.E. Turner in Lake Village, AR,
when her beautiful spirit began to make the world brighter.
Raised in Eudora, Arkansas, Elizabeth confessed a hope in Christ at an
early age. She was a faithful member of Holly Ridge M.B. Church where she
gained the title of “Mother” and served until her passing days. Elizabeth
married the late Isiah Woods in 1972. During their matrimony, they created
seven beautiful children of whom Elizabeth devoted her entire life to with
an unconditional love that will never be replaced. In her spare time, she
loved to read her bible and watch soap operas (her "stories"), game shows,
football, and basketball. However, her favorite thing was spending time
with her children, grandchildren, and other members of family and
community. She was truly a God-fearing, strong, and compassionate leader
whose faith showed through and through.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her granddaughter T’Essence Turner;
grandson, T’Ivory Neal; great-granddaughter, Truth Turner; two brothers;
Allen Turner, Sr., Chotard Turner; and a loving sister, Ethel Mae Crosby.
She leaves to cherish her memory four daughters: Tina Turner (Dexter) of
Little Rock, AR, Angella Woods of Eudora, AR, Shatarri Woods of Dallas, TX,
and Tametria Woods of Little Rock, AR; 3 sons: Isiah Woods Jr. (Norisha) of
Little Rock, AR, Courtney Woods (Gabriela) of Eudora, AR, and Tavaris Woods
of Dallas, TX; 24 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers:
Avery Turner (Danita) of Eudora, AR, Thomas Turner (Benita) of Discovery
Bay, CA, and Robert Turner (Neko) of Fort Worth, TX; a very close friend
Victoria Crenshaw and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends
who were blessed to have experienced her presence.
