Edward Brown
December 9, 1936 - September 21, 2023.
Edward Brown, 86, of Parkdale, AR passed away on September 21, 2023 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.
Edward was born on December 9, 1936 to James and Willie Brown in Parkdale, Arkansas. Edward Brown attended the school for blacks only in Parkdale, Arkansas. He left school at 9th grade.
Edward went to work before the sun came up and worked until sunset to provide for his wife (Delorse Sellers-Brown) and children. Edward did not let his health conditions (Chronic Asthma) keep him from being the man of his house. He believed that a man should always be the breadwinner of his family and that's exactly what he did.
He loved Burger King, riding, talking to people, listening to music (blues, spirituals, etc.) He enjoyed talking with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved them all! In his last days, he looked forward to Brison being there for him to help him get whatever he requested (like butterfingers) and anything else. His heart leaped for joy when J'son (meka boy as he called him) came to visit! He always smiled when he asked about Damani (that baby as he called him) Edward was not just a Paw Paw by name he was an active role model for all his grands!
He lived in Parkdale until he became unable to live alone due to his failed health in 2022 he moved to Dermott, Arkansas with his baby girl Charmaine Brown and her sons.
He is survived by six children, Charmaine N. Brown of Dermott, AR, Shelia A. D. Hoffman of Lyons, IL, Toimekin L. Brown of Mcgehee, AR, Anthony D. Brown of Marianna, AR, Alphonso Robinson, and Kendrion Houston; eighteen grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
