A Celebration of Life in Loving Memory of Asilee Q. Owens ( Feb. 19, 1925 - Jan. 31, 2019) Homegoing services held: Friday, Feb. 15, 2019 | 11 a.m. Washington Memoria Church of God in Christ Dermott, Arkansas Superintendent Edward Gaston, Officiating [hr] Asilee Quamiau Owens, 93, departed from this life on Thursday, Jan. 31, 2019. She was a resident of Dermott City Nursing Home, a well loved mother and grandmother, a devoted church servant, and cherished former employee of Dillard Funeral Home. Our memories build a special bridge when loved ones have to part to help us feel we're with them still and sooth a grieving heart. Our memories span the years we shared, preserving ties that bind, They build a special bridge of love and bring us peace of mind. Mrs. Owens was born in Plummerville, Arkansas Feb. 19, 1925 to James Arthur and Asilee Leverett. She was affectionately known to family and friends as "Q." She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lecester, daughter Cloyce, three brothers (Arthur, Frederick and James) and five sisters, (Ola, Alice, Lillie, Arthur Ree, Johnnie and Jessie.) Mrs. Owens accepted Christ at an early age. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of God in Christ in McGhee, Arkansas under Dr. A.L. Hunt, Sr. for many yeas and then at Washington Memorial Church of God in Christ, Dermott, Arkansas, under Superintendent Edward Gaston as a church mother until God called her home. She began her career as a nurse at Saint Mary's Hospital, Dermott, Arkansas, then retired after 20 years of service from Dermott Chicot Memorial Hospital, Dermott, Arkansas. After retiring, she continued to serve others in need for many years and as an employee of Dillard Funeral Home. Those left to morn her passing and cherish her memory include: one grandson, Anthony Owens of Chesapeake, VA, one granddaughter, Jacqueline Fulford of Jacksonville, AR; sister Blance Doss of Kansas City, KS, son-in-law Robert Fulford of Dermott, AR; great-grandchildren: Christopher, Falon, Jaqutta, Porsha, Toni and TyTi'Yana; great-great grand-children: Ace, Levi, Madalyn and Melanie; sister in laws: Juanita Leverett, Voncele Leverett, Margaret Leverette; special family friends: Davette Logan and Jesse Burton, and a host of nieces, nephews, family members and friends. Mrs. Owens was laid to rest at Hurds Cemetery in Hurds, Arkansas.
